Penthouse Season 1

Penthouse Season 2

Of all the seasons of Penthouse, I think this is the hardest to watch. I know it's a fiction drama, but some scenes are too unrealistic that I cannot even gather my brain cells to understand them. Let me share the freshest that's in my mind.

When Su Ryeon and Seo Jin were on the cliff, and when Seo Jin allegedly pushed Su Ryeon, Logan came sliding from the mountain. Like, "What?!" I actually thought he'd die from it, but nope. That's not what happened. This one was too hilarious, I can't get it out of my head.

Going back, I honestly don't understand why everyone had to die. Starting from Oh Yoon Hee, Joo Dan Tae, Ha Yoon Chul, Shim Su Ryeon, and Cheon Seo Jin.

I wanted Joo Dan Tae and Cheon Seo Jin to die. So that's fine. But for Yoon Hee, Yoon Chul, and Su Ryeon, why? From there, I felt, "Yeah, this is really the end of Penthouse." They literally killed everyone.

I also noticed plot holes here and there. Let's start with Shim Su Ryeon's death. I know she's guilty of Yoon Hee and Yoon Chul's deaths. However, it just doesn't make sense. She was fighting evil for her kids all this time. But in a snap, she decided to take her own life because she's guilty. She's always "for the kids," but she didn't even think of her kids and Yoon Hee's kid before she decided to take her life. On the other hand, I also thought that when someone is truly depressed and they feel like the world is shattering because of them, they contemplate on what to do with their own life forgetting what they are truly fighting for. It's sad actually.

Shim Su Ryeon doesn't deserve the ending the writer gave her. She might be behind the revenge, but how I wish the writer gave her a break by ending the drama where she lives happily with Logan and the kids. The writer and director don't want the audience feel settled. I am still bothered while I am writing it.

I also wonder what happened to Joo Hye In. There was one episode where Su Ryeon was talking to her on the phone, but we never saw her again after that. I thought that she might be relevant in this season, but it turned out she's only a filler.

I also thought that Alex Lee will be relevant. But nope. He also turned out to be a filler, or maybe, he's supposedly relevant. But the audience's feedback wasn't that good so the writer put Logan again in the picture. Who knows?

How I wish that they also gave special attention to Yoon Hee's family. The way they revealed that Yoon Chul was the father of Rona was like an "eh?" moment for me.

I also wonder what happened to the check enclosed in a book that Yoon Hee gave to Su Ryeon. I don't know if I wasn't just watching properly, but I cannot remember what happened to that.

Baek Jun Ki was also a filler! OMG! I thought he'd contribute something juicy to the story. I was so disappointed when he didn't. He vanished after all the chaos about Logan being hidden.

Now, let me talk about feeling sorry for Ha Eun Byeol. Her character was the darkest and heaviest in this drama. She witnessed her mom killing three people because of her greed. She thinks that she's the root of all of her mom's greed. It clouded her judgment. She lived blaming herself for everything that happened. I like the character development of Eun Byeol. But I feel sorry for her. I secretly wished that she watched Rona's performance and they reunited as sisters.

I also liked Ms. Jin's character starting flat then eventually became significant. It was brilliant. I loved how they put her there in Season 2.

Soo Kyung's character also had a good development. I wished having season 4 because of her. I wanted to see more of her changes as a human being.

I feel sad for Rona and Seok Hoon's characters. They were dull. But I am happy for them for achieving what they dreamed of in the end.

What made me sad in this season was when Ha Yoon Chul became blind and visited her two daughters. It was a tear-jerker. We cannot justify his bad deeds in the past. But I can't agree with the ending that was written for him. It could be a bit better, you know.

For evil Dan Tae and Seo Jin, do they deserve their endings? No. The writers should make up something that will assure us that they were buried dead. But no! Dan Tae was left in Hera Palace during the explosion, and Seo Jin took pills to death. Who knows if they still escaped death? For Dan Tae, he had a bullet in his head. But this is Penthouse, where everything is possible and everyone can be alive again! So I still think, they're both still alive somewhere.

For Oh Yoon Hee, I will never understand why she has to be killed that way. Was it for the karma of killing Seol Ah? It's awful and sudden. It was sad. I like my love-hate relationship with her character. I somehow wished she was killed in a different way or she just lived. Period.

To sum it up, is it worth watching? Yes.

Will I watch it again? No. This is a good drama to watch only once and randomly again because of its obvious heaviness.

Do I recommend the drama? Yes, of course. Everyone did an amazing job in portraying their characters, it almost felt real. So, I will definitely recommend this drama.

Have you noticed any more plot holes that I forgot to mention? Do you have any opposing feedback? Share your thoughts in the comments section below. I'd want to know your thoughts on this drama.
