It has been two years since Hwang In Youp's first visit to the Philippines. Known for his roles in Family By Choice, True Beauty, 18 Again, and more, the actor delighted his Filipino fans last Saturday by warmly greeting them with "Kumusta po?" During the event, the first segment titled Inyeop's Favorite? focused on his favorite local spots and dishes. He shared his love for Filipino cuisine, mentioning Kwek-Kwek, Sinigang, Halo-Halo, Lechon, and, unsurprisingly, Jollibee. He even revealed that upon arriving in the Philippines, his first stop was to dine at Jollibee. “I was very, very happy that I got to come back to the Philippines. Every time I come back, it feels like my second home, so I was very happy,” through an interpreter.
During the event, the actor brought excitement and joy to his Filipino fans by warmly and humorously engaging with them, setting a vibrant and entertaining tone for the gathering. One of the memorable highlights of the evening was his playful teasing of latecomers. As fans continued to arrive after his opening performance, he would jokingly ask, “Did you just arrive?” This lighthearted remark became a recurring moment, drawing laughter from the audience. In good humor, he also made a playful nod to a common cultural stereotype, quipping, “Very Filipino time. I know that.” The comment struck a chord with the crowd, especially because of his personal connection to the Philippines. In-youp shared that he had spent almost four years living and studying in Davao City, which made his familiarity with Filipino culture even more endearing. He fondly mentioned his friends from Davao and expressed how much he missed them. Adding a heartfelt and nostalgic touch, he even asked the audience if any of his friends were present at the fan meeting. This sparked a humorous moment when some mischievous fans raised their hands, pretending to be his old acquaintances

But that’s not all—In-youp displayed an impressive array of talents during the event, leaving the Filipino fans thoroughly enchanted with his dynamic performances in both music and dance. He serenaded the audience with several songs, including BTS member V’s heartfelt track “Slow Dancing,” demonstrating his vocal prowess. To add to the excitement, he thrilled the crowd with an energetic and playful dance to a snippet of “Ice On My Teeth,” a song by the popular K-pop group ATEEZ, showcasing his versatility and stage presence.Rather than the usual Hi-Bye sessions that fans might expect, HIY decided for Hi-Touch sessions instead, offering a more personal and interactive experience. Many attendees described as the most unforgettable moment of their lives, cherishing the opportunity to meet him up so close.
