Kim Se Jeong left out the door with fun-filled memories and fulfilled dreams!
South Korean singer-actress Kim Se Jeong had a spectacular one-night concert via “The é–€ (Door) 2023 KIM SE JEONG IN MANILA” on Sunday, October 1 at the New Frontier Theater, presented by Wilbros Live.
The K-pop and K-drama star started the show leaving out a door with a feeling of nostalgia with her song “Whale,” which was made more dreamy by a colorful digital backdrop that included a floating whale. She also serenaded the fans with her songs “Destiny” and “Teddy Bear,” in which she sang with a cute teddy bear sitting down beside her while she performed.
Sejeong also performed “Indigo Promise,” in which she joked that minors who watched her concert should not search for the meaning of it because it is for adults. She then talked about how she wrote her songs. The singer-actress revealed that if observed, her songs are best played at night.
“If you listen to many of my songs, they [often] have night backgrounds. The first reason is I often write songs at night. [The] second [reason] is because I love the word ‘dream’ and we dream at night,” she explained.
After the opening set, Sejeong dropped her jaw as she felt overwhelmed upon hearing the loud cheers from her lovely fans called Sesangs, which was derived from the Korean word “world.”
“The crowd is so intense now. Your cheers are so loud,” she stated through an interpreter.
Because of the loud screams from the crowd, Sejeong then dedicated her next performances of songs “Plant” and “Send A Letter” to her fans. The ambiance seamlessly shifted to a bright, radiant, and breezy of her tender and powerful number.
After her performance, she happily told her stories about the songs. “The world is like a plant to me. When I wake up, I just want to check how much love I get from the world,” she expressed. Sejeong then asked the fans, “are you confident that you will take care of the plant ‘Kim Sejeong’?” and fans screamed with their answers.
On the second part of the concert, Sejeong performed the adventure-like “Voyage” and dramatic R&B “Top or Cliff” — the two singles of her recent album “Door,” where the concert tour takes its title from. She also performed “Warning,” in which she took over the rap verse originally delivered by Korean rapper Lil Boi.
A special performance for the original soundtracks (OST) that she recorded for K-dramas was also showcased, including “Meet Again” from The Uncanny Counter, “If Only” from The Legend of the Blue Sea and “All of My Days” from Crash Landing On You. The crowd sang along as she wrapped the set with “Love, Maybe” from her hit romantic comedy series “Business Proposal.”
With her natural charm and attractive energy, Sejeong had the audience's attention captured throughout the nearly three-hour show. Her contagious smile, kind chats with the crowd, and “aegyo” (baby talk and cute gestures) melted the hearts of Filo-Sesangs.
During the encore, a heartwarming moment took place as Sejeong teared up after watching a fan project video of her Filipino fans showing messages and love. The audience tried to cheer her up by chanting “uljima” (Korean for “don’t cry”).
“You made that video to make me cry but why are you telling me not to cry?” she bantered.
“Through this video, you have shown how happy you were tonight. Even though I'm far away, thank you so much for loving me just like a person that's always beside you,” Sejeong enthused.

To conclude the concert, Kim Se Jeong dedicated a fittingly song titled “Let’s Go Home” during which she went down from the stage and walked around the orchestra, getting up close and personal with fans, giving way to requests for selfies, hand hearts, and touching her hands.
