We may be experiencing summer here in the Philippines as the weather starts to warm up, while it is now Spring in Korea! From March to May...
Festivals
Spring season has a lot of festivals to celebrate that Koreans look forward to, as it shows their beautiful culture.
Starting with the Seoul Rose Festival. A 5.15-kilometer-long rose tunnel creates millions of roses to blossom in the Jungnang-gu neighborhood. The festival, which takes place in May and features several performances and activity programs to entertain guests, is centered on the lovely aspect of roses. The festival gives guest photo zones across the event area and celebrates each day with content based on multiple themes.
On Jeju Island, they celebrate a representative cultural festival related to Jeju's culture of livestock care. Every March, the Jeju Fire Festival occurs at the Saebyeoloreum Volcanic Cone. The festival includes a media façade show, a fire show, a torch march, other activities, and various programs and food trucks.
Other festivals during Spring are the Lantern Festival, a festival of beautiful light fixtures and a media facade, and the Yeouido Spring Flower Festival is held in mid-April when the azaleas, forsythia, royal azaleas, and other spring flowers are in full bloom.
Activities
Spring in Korea is an excellent time to enjoy outdoor activities after a long winter. Aside from admiring the cherry blossoms, Koreans also like to read books at the Forest library. The library is near Samcheong Park's entrance, and it houses over 60,000 books alternating between Korean and Japanese publications. It also has a view of Bugaksan Mountain and the nearby cherry blossoms in full bloom.
Jeju is ideal for kitesurfing and windsurfing due to its strong winds, gentle waves, and pleasant weather. Water sports are popular among locals and tourists, as they can be found on any of Korea's beautiful beaches. Hyeopjae Beach, a great destination with beautiful locations such as the Hyeopjae Lava Tube and the Hwangnyongsa, is perhaps the most notable.
And this will only be complete by seeing the symbol of Seoul. Because forsythias represent expectation, hope, and achievement, it is the best tree to represent Seoul. Many of these trees are in full bloom across Eungbongsan Mountain. People can reach the top of this small landform in 30 minutes because it is covered with over 200,000 forsythia trees.
An observatory at the top of the mountain offers a better view of the mountain, and photographers in the area can photograph you as you enjoy the bright, yellow-green trail.

Spring is also the best time to travel to Korea! The weather is less warm and is perfect for tourists to wander around cities!
