Annyeong, Chingu! The EPS TOPIK Online Hangul TV was back for its 3rd episode (January 12, 2023, Thursday) featuring the topic “Feelings and Emotions”. This was hosted by Bienne Marguarette Chan Lugay and Thea Templanza, together with Korean language instructor and interpreter, Daniel Stephen Bungay. For the first part of the program, Sir Daniel made some recap about the previous topic featured in the 2nd episode. The following examples are:

1. The must-remember Korean words
a. Sigan (시간) means TIME
b. Jumal (주말) means WEEKEND
c. Yaksok (약속) means APPOINTMENT
2. Days of the week in Korean
3. Korean phrases

Do you have time on Sunday?
Il-yo-ile shigan isseoyo?
일요일에 시간 있어요?
b. The use of yaksok (appointment) and il-yo-il (Sunday) in a sentence

주말에 일 있어요?
In Korean, the term “Feelings and Emotions” means “kibungwa kamjeong” (기분과 감정)

How are we going to say what we feel in Korean? According to Sir Stephen, say the “jigeum kibuni (지금 기분이)” first, then put what you really feel. Below are the examples:

1. HAPPY
jigeum kibuni haengbok heyo
지금 기분이 행복해요
Right now, I’m feeling happy

jigeum = Right now, I’m
kibuni = feeling
haengbok heyo = happy

2. SAD
jigeum kibuni apayo
지금 기분이 아파요
I’m feeling sad

jigeum = Right now, I’m
kibuni = feeling
apayo = sad

Astonishing! Isn’t it, that’s how you can express your feelings, Chingu! Try it now using the following examples given in the images.

Furthermore, Sir Stephen said in the lecture that these details about the expression of feelings and emotions will be included to the coverage of the upcoming EPS TOPIK Exam on February 6, 2023 to March 8, 2023 (the 1st batch) and March 9, 2023 to June 30, 2023 (the 2nd batch).

So, don’t forget to take note of these details from Episode 3 of Hangul TV. Hope it will help you to pass the exam that will lead you to the achievement of your dreams.
