2022 will be a year filled with excitement for the K-pop community and its fans as many groups are set to debut this year. We are all thrill...
So, without further ado, here are five girl groups and five boy groups ready to debut this 2022:
1. YOUNITE

YOUNITE (유나이트) is an upcoming nine-member boy group under Brand New Music. During their pre-debut, their label opened SNS accounts for the new boy group along with a debut teaser video on February 13, 2022.
Last March 18, YOUNITE revealed that they will debut with their first EP, entitled “Youni-Birth”, which would be released on April 20. The fandom name of the group would be called YOUNIZ, which is a play on words referencing both their group name and the word "needs", meaning that YOUNITE and their fans need one another.
2. NCT Hollywood

In a press release by SM Entertainment, the label announced that NCT-Hollywood will be launched and will be active in the global music market. In collaboration with the United States’ MGM Worldwide Television, the two companies would pave the way to lead K-pop to Hollywood. Last year, auditions were held.
While the exact debut date for this year is not yet announced, fans may expect to witness a few existing members of NCT that is yet to be confirmed which might be included in the unit including JaeMin, Jeno, JiSung, and more.
3. Baby Monster

Composed of members aged 15to16, Baby Monster is expected to be YG Entertainment’s youngest five-member girl group to debut. They are also the first girl group after BLACKPINK speculated to have large preparations with high-intensity training of about four to five years.
While there is still no exact date for their debut, fans can still get their hopes up as they are projected to debut sometime this year.
4. (Unnamed) MLD Entertainment Girl Group

A new girl group will be debuting under MLD Entertainment in the first half of 2022. Chantal Videla, a Filipino-Argentinian trainee, and Nonaka Shana from Planet 999 were the first two members the label officially revealed.
5. P NATION LOUD

P NATION LOUD is originally a seven-member boy group that is part of the resulting debut teams from the survival program “LOUD”. The group is likely to debut this year.
A recent update was announced and revealed that Koki would not be debuting with the current group due to his need for more training. This leaves only six members of P NATION LOUD.
6. ZeroSix

ZeroSix is a pre-debut girl group consisting of five members under Liz Entertainment. The said group is scheduled to debut in the second half of 2022.
Originally, ZeroSix was supposed to debut in February 2021. However, there were no succeeding updates on debut plans. Because of this, it was revealed on December 10, 2021, that member Xindy will make her first solo debut first.
7. Inter Girls

Inter Girls is a pre-debut girl group under B.D Entertainment that consists of four members. The group will debut in the first half of 2022 with big promotional activities. For one, they performed at the 2021 Atlanta Korean Festival from September 25 to 26, as well as various performances in Alabama and New Jersey.
On March 21, 2022, it was announced that Inter Girls was preparing for an online/offline K-Stage broadcast on the 27th and would be holding their first fan showcase titled "INTOYOU: What Is Your Color?" on April 2 at Yangcheon Cultural Center in Seoul. Two days after, they released their first digital single, "바쁘니까 끊어."
8. Trainee A

Trainee A was formed in early 2021 and is ready to debut in 2022. Currently, they consist of seven members: Yorch Yongsin, Leo, Sangwon, Woochan, James, JJ, and Jihoon.
Many speculations are going around that the boy group will debut under HYBE Labels. In January, Trainee A Trainee A released a video entitled, ‘Can we debut..? [A-Road] EP.1’, hinting at their debut this year. But no exact debut date for this new K-pop boy group, still.
9. BRANDNEWZ

Formed in November 2020, BRANDNEWZ (브랜뉴즈) is a pre-debut boy group under Brand New Music consisting of Steve, Eunho, Hyunseung, Eunsang, Wonho, Hyeongsik, Kyungmun, Sehyeon and Sion. While there is still no specific debut date for BRANDNEWZ, they still regularly upload vlogs on their official Youtube channel.
10. (Temporary Name) Yes IM Entertainment Girl Group

This group is a six-member upcoming girl group under Yes IM Entertainment. Its CEO is a well-known Korean ballad singer, Lim ChangJung. They are said to be debuting in March or April of 2022. The only confirmed member for now is Yoon Jia.
There are so many girl groups and boy groups debuting this year. Indeed, we cannot wait to see them take the stage. The list doesn’t stop here. Let’s all hope that all of these K-pop groups will debut successfully and turn out to be an amazing K-music experience for all.
