Captain Ri of Crash Landing on You is unforgettable to Filipino fans. When the series ended, their fandom began. Around the world, there will be different ways to celebrate their idol's birthday.
A grand plan is set to be in motion tomorrow. This is an undertaking by the Binnians (what the club members are called.), led by Cherry Saculo-Genato, chief executive officer of Manila Preneur Corp., an Integrated Marketing Company that supports the 2021 Birthday Project of the Hyun Bin Philippines Fan Club (HBPFC).
Manila Preneur Corp. streamed a virtual press conference on September17, in which they gave us an idea of how things would play out on the birthday event.
The three elements of the event are: gift, party, and share the joy.
The deep meaning behind the gifts, the first element, for Hyun Bin was also revealed.
"If one person has everything in the world already, sila yung mahirap regaluhan (it is difficult to choose a gift for them)," quipped Cherry.
It took them four months of research to come up with the nine items, which are:
1. A battle mug made by an overseas military veteran. The business is run to support retired military officers and first respondents globally. The battle mug is a solid 10+ lb block of T6-billet aluminum, which is the same material used for real guns.
Engraved on this collectible piece are the words "BINNIANS OF THE HBPFC" at the bottom and "Hyun Bin Beer 2021" by the handle.
2-5. Customized beers for different Hyun Bin characters
The support given by MPC enabled HPBFC to bring the 4 popular characters of Hyun Bin in his past K-dramas to be remembered on the birthday celebration.
In 2020, Manila Preneur Corp. (MPC) collaborated with the fourth-largest local brewer (Boondocks Brewing Co.) in the Philippines to make the exclusive craft beer for his birthday. Concocting a craft beer is a work of art that carefully handpicks the ingredients for the exclusive brew: malted barley from Germany, combined with heirloom flaked rice from local family farms, and raw sugar from Negros, the delicate hops from Yakima Valley for a hint of bitter flavor, and the yeast strain that does the rest of the magic.
Hyun Bin Beer 2021 presents the following craft beer styles: Session Ale as Captain Ri of "Crash Landing on You," Summer Ale as Robin of "Hyde Jekyll Me," Wheat Ale as Kim Joo Won of "Secret Garden," and Strong Ale as Min Tae Gun of "The Negotiation."
"I doubt if any other group/fan club can come up with such a concept when it comes to a birthday celebration. Of course, there's party, there's booze. Not only are we serving just any beer, we brewed a flight of craft beer to make this virtual party into a blast!" said Cherry Genato, the HBPFC director who is also the event organizer of the Philippine Craft Beer community.

It was made by Filipino visual artist Clint Catalan. The artwork contains a collage cutout of everything that Hyun Bin likes: his golfing hobby, his childhood dream of being a detective, his role as Captain Ri, camouflage, and keyboard playing.
Saculo stated that: "Art is understood in multiple ways depending on who's appreciating art. This is not an ordinary portrait that you hang on the wall. If you're a fan, you understand the elements. If you're not a fan, you will have questions about the details on the portrait, which will make you learn about Hyun Bin more."

For the second element--- party --- the fans will gather virtually on September 25 to have fun. Everyone can watch the live stream for free at the Manila Preneur Corp FB page. Here, VIP "Ninang" fans will play games and show off their nine customized cakes.
The third element --- share the joy --- involves sharing essentials to the nine handpicked beneficiaries which are: Children - Orphanage Meritxell Children's World Foundation, Women - Women's Care Center, Inc., PWD - Pambansang Kapisanan ng mga May Kapansanan ng Pilipinas, Inc., Seniors - Good Samaritan Nursing Home for the Elderly, Church - Our Lady of Miraculous Medal, Education - Mater Carmeli School, Blind - Philippine Blind Union Inc., Sick - Hydrocephalus Foundation of the Philippines Inc., and Animals/Environment - Mission PAWssible.
"I want this 2021 birthday celebration for Hyun Bin to be special. I would like to attract more fangirls to join the HPBFC. I want them to experience a different fangirling event --- they can tell the difference for sure," Cherry said.
