"Crash Landing on You" may have been released two years ago, but the passage of time only made the passion of Binnians grow stronger. This is the abridged name for Hyun Bin fans, and the Hyun Bin Philippines Fans Club is more enthusiastic than ever.
One year has passed since the Binnians of this large and active Philippine fan club had upped the ante of fangirling, which has never been done by any other fan group. Their 2020 celebration of Hyun Bin's birthday was featured in local and international articles.
“I am more challenged this year since the fan club has grown almost 200% from the time we held 2020 Hyun Bin’s Virtual Party celebration for the fans,” shared Ms. Cherry Saculo, President of the Hyun Bin Philippine Fan Club (HBPFC) and CEO of Manila Preneur Corp (MPC). She also emphasized that they are unlike other fan groups that have not been posting much on their fan pages or have stopped totally because their interests already dwindled. These people are back to their normal work schedule before the pandemic hit.
“I am very thankful that the Binnians of the HBPFC remained strong. I made sure that MPC continues to create exciting content for the HBPFC. Like monthly virtual streams, fan engagements thru our fanzine, and even charity initiatives. It is important that every fan feels their sense of belongingness to the group”, the dedicated Hyun Bin Philippines fan club president added.
The birthday of Hyun Bin is on Sept 25, the actor is turning 39 and the “NINANG” pre-concept launched by Manila Preneur Corp. is indeed very witty for a startup drive. In the world of fangirling, fans normally contribute individual efforts in order to create activities for their community. The HBPFC is lucky to have solid support from an Integrated Marketing Agency since the owner herself is a hardcore fangirl herself.
“Ever since I was chosen to lead this group, I wanted to change the usual ways of a fan club, like admins are in lead and fans are just audience, surely that set up is something I want to get rid of. I like every fan to be proud of herself, I think is the reason why we are growing," exclaimed Cherry.
In a few weeks, Binnians will be busy executing their birthday charity event, the come-back of the Hyun Bin Beer, the actual gift sending of the gift they prepared for Hyun Bin and their most awaited virtual birthday party celebration where fans gather online to play games, give a toast, blow the cake and sing the birthday song for their oppa, Hyun Bin.
It is recalled that the 2020 gifts to Hyun Bin (shoe art and exclusive craft beer brew) were a hit since they proudly symbolized the character of Capt. Ri with clear Filipino branding.
When asked what is expected this 2021, she replied: "Suspense is important, as a fan club we share teasers from time to time, but everyone needs to wait for THE DAY. Some fans are even more excited to celebrate their idol’s birthday versus their own birthdays, that's why it's a fan community celebration. We are inviting every single fan to join us. There is no requirement. As long as you’re looking for fun, then we are here to fulfill that fangirling to Hyun Bin."
