President Rodrigo Roa Duterte announced the content of the resolution adopted by the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) on March 12, 2020.
Department of Health has raised the Alert Level for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) to Alert Code Red Sub-Level 2, which means that they have confirmed a sustained human-to-human community transmission and the source of infection can no longer be identified.
With the imposition of Code Red Sub-level 2, the President has put the whole of Metro Manila on community quarantine which means that land, domestic air, and domestic sea travel to and from Metro Manila is not allowed during the period of March 15 12:00 to April 14 23:59. Community quarantine on areas outside Metro Manila can be imposed by mayors and governors in their respective jurisdictions, if localized transmissions are recorded.
All the aforementioned measures shall be subject to daily monitoring and reassessment by the Inter-Agency Task Force. The President also advised the public to observe social distancing and to follow the directives of the Department of Health to quell the spread of the disease.
