The Philippine Embassy in Seoul hereby informs the public of an advisory issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs of Korea (MAFRA) informing all inbound passengers that bringing livestock products into South Korea is strictly prohibited.
In accordance with the act of Prevention of Contagious Animal Diseases, people who bring in pork products and processed pork products into Korea without declaration will face fine as follows:
- 1st offense – 5 million won
- 2nd offense – 7.5 million won
- 3rd offense – 10 million won
For people who bring in livestock products other than pork and processed pork products into Korea without declaration will face fine as follows:
- 1st offense – 1 million won
- 2nd offense – 3 million won
- 3rd offense – 5 million won
These measures will be strictly implemented by MAFRA starting this year.
