All three are must-visit places in Jeju and all were formed due to volcanic activities in the island thousands, or even millions, of years ago.

Jusangjeolli Cliff (Jusangjeolli-dae / 주상절리대) in Seogwipo was formed when lava from Mount Hallasan erupted to the Jungmun Sea. The stone pillars were named by the district, 'Jisatgae Rocks'.

Manjanggul Cave (Manjanggul / 만장굴) in Cheju/Jeju City is the second-longest lava tunnel in Jeju and 12th longest in the world. The cave tunnel is 13 kilometers long but only 1 kilometer of it is open to tourists.

Sunrise Peak (Seongsan Ilchulbong / 성산일출봉), is a volcanic cone located in the eastern part of Jeju that was formed around 100,000 years ago. Perfect time to visit the peak is during spring where yellow canola flowers are everywhere.

3. Go on a hike / Walk along the trail

If you just want to relax and enjoy nature at its best, you can either try going on a hike or walk along the many trails in the island. If you want to go hiking, one of the best place in Jeju to go on a daytime hike is at Mount Hallasan. The hiking trail is relatively easy but the weather can be a little unpredictable so always listen to what the Hallasan National Park officials has to say. If you prefer, walking, there's the Jeju Olle Trail. It has 26 routes around the coast of Jeju and the routes have different lengths and levels of difficulty. The shortest route takes up to an hour, while the longest takes up to eight hours to complete.
