Filipino Community Hosts a Forum on How to Change E9 to E7 and D2 Visa

SEOUL - #PalitBISA was held at the Gaon Hall of Seoul National University last July 16, 2017. Organized by Pinoy Iskolars sa Korea (PIKO) in partnership with Filipino EPS Worker's Association (FEWA), the event attracted more than 200 Filipino workers and other professionals who are interested to shift or change visa to further boost their professional career or continue their education.

#PalitBISA is a seminar, dedicated to EPS workers, tackling how to change E9 visa to E7 (professional) or D2 (student visa). The speakers are Attorney Hans Choi of GMK Visa Korea, Ms. Hye Jin Jang of Korean Public Service and Transport Worker’s Union, Ms. Elena Dela Cruz of the Seoul Global Center, Dr. Katherine Villalobos-Moron of Gownet-SK Telecom, Julius Marvin Flores PhD Candidate from Sejong University and Mr. Joel Badulis, an EPS worker and E7 Visa aspirant. “Aim for the moon, If you miss, you may hit a star” said Julius Flores, the previous president of Filipino scholars in Korea (PIKO) to encourage the attendees to not be disappointed with failures but instead be enthusiastic for they might be a better opportunity waiting for them.

The program ended with an open forum discussing the issues, problems, and concerns of the Filipino workers’ life in Korea.
